Why is there something rather than nothing?
2026"Why is there something rather than nothing?" Franz West’s iconic object, which creates a truly unusual encounter amid the fields in Stronsdorf, serves as the inspiration for the title of a collaboration between KOERNOE and the KinderKunstLabor.
In KOERNOE’s anniversary year, young people are invited to participate in workshops and lectures to creatively examine the public space that we, as a society, (should) share equally, and to question what is present and what is missing. This summer, Brazilian artist Graziela Kunsch, together with young people, explores the government district through playful interventions designed to spark new perspectives and ideas.
Lectures, talks, and workshops with and for children and young people bring together artists and experts from across artistic and academic disciplines. Featuring Sonia Leimer, Leopold Kessler, Julia Grosse, Joanna Zabielska, Oliver Elser, Friederike Holländer, Heidi Pretterhofer (architect), Michael Rieper, Hannes Gröblacher, and Graziela Kunsch.
A collaboration between KOERNOE and the KinderKunstLabor – Centre for Contemporary Art, marking 30 years of KOERNOE.
